Chapter 15
Chance headed up the stairs to wait on John to come to his office. He wasnât sure what his boss wanted to have a meeting about, but he was sure it had something to do with his campaign. As soon as he reached Johnâs office door, he was met by India.
âChance, are you mad at me? I swear I didnât know about Justin. I donât wanna go, but I know itâs important for my dadâs campaign,â she whispered.
âNah shawty. I ainât tripping off that square ass nigga. I know your daddy be on bullshit. And I know Iâm the only nigga laying dick in you. But if that nigga get out of line let me know.â
âOkay. Iâll text you.â
âAight.â
Chance watched as his girl walked down the stairs. Her ass was sitting right in the jeans she had on. The way it was moving made him want to fuck her in her parentsâ crib. He wasnât the jealous type of nigga, and he hated that she felt like she even had to explain the shit to him. It did make him respect her even more than he already did because Chance was big on loyalty.
The word loyalty made him think of Ralo and how they had been bumping heads. Ralo didnât like the fact that Chance had been kicking it with Kirk especially since he was a cop. It was once a time when the three of them were inseparable. They were like the three amigos, and you never saw one without the others.
The night they all broke into the corner store back when they were in high school was when a rift was caused between Kirk and Ralo. The three of them had planned their break in for weeks. What they didnât realize was the store owner actually lived inside of the store. When the owner heard them rambling through the cash register, he started shooting in their direction. They all took off running, but Ralo was hit in the stomach and caught. After Raloâs surgery, he was sent to juvie for three years. Ralo always felt like Kirk abandoned him by going to live with his father in Georgia. Chance was the only one that would come to visit him and when he got out of juvie Chance put him on to the drug game, and they had been running the streets of Jackson ever since.
âYou ready to get this meeting started?â John asked, interrupting his thoughts.
âYeah. Whatâs going on, Mr. Livingston?â
Chance watched Johnâs movement closely because after the whole Christian situation, he really didnât trust him like that. If a man would cause harm to his own child, then he didnât give a fuck about anyone else. John slid Chance an envelope and when he opened it, he saw fifty thousand dollars.
âChance, I need you to be at my charity event. I donât trust my other security staff as much as I trust you.â
âYo, this a lot of money for a charity event. I ainât killing nobody for you, Mr.
