Even with my brother home safe, my brain was going ninety to nothing. The hunt wasn’t the easiest I’ve been on, but it was a little too easy. Where were the guards? How did we just enter the house without much of a fight?

As I enter the living room, I note the three guys are all relaxing as if they are home.

I bump Folsom’s feet off my little coffee table, “Feet off the table.”

“Yes, ma’am.” He smirks at me. “How’s your brother?”

“Best he can be, but I feel like he’s not telling me something. Plus, today was too easy. If that was a true vamp nest, where were the guards? I mean I’m happy that Cord and my brother are safe but the whole thing just feels off,” I say as I sit next to him on the couch.

Folsom pulls me close and wraps his arms around me as Axl lays his head on my lap.

“Um, there is probably vamp blood on my pants, you may not want to put your head there,” I tell Axl.

He turns over and glances up at me, “I need a shower anyway, what’s a little more blood?”

“The water should be hot in about fifteen minutes. Hans and I have been meaning to replace the hot water heater, we just haven’t found the time,” I tell him.

“Well, we could shower together,” he smiles at me, “you know to conserve the hot water.”

“Enticing, but not tonight,” I tell him as a frown tips his lips. “That wasn’t a no, just not yet.”

“But I do need to check the bandages on your leg,” Folsom reminds me.

“Fine, I’m going to take a cold shower, these leathers are making me sweat like a pig,” I say as Axl sits up so I can stand.

“Sure you don’t want some company?” Axl asks as I move past him.

I smile sweetly, “Thank you, but no. Leather and sweat are not a turn on, I promise you.”

“Holler at me when you are ready for me to check your backside,” Folsom says as I start to head up the stairs.

“Yes, sir,” I say as I turn and give him a little salute.

This gets a chuckle from all three of them.

I head to my room so I can grab some clothes and I decide to strip there. It’s more spacious than the bathroom. I knew it would be a struggle to get out of these as they feel like a second skin. It is great for a fight but that's all.

My top comes off easily but the pants, that is the magic trick. I unbutton them and start the normal shimmy and pull as I always do after a vamp mission.

I get one leg off without too much trouble until I work my foot out of it. I tug and go flying in the air, landing on my ass and—to add insult to injury—my foot is still caught in the leathers.

There is no way the guys didn’t hear my thud, I’m not a big girl, but I did hit hard.
