BIBLIOGRAPHY OF BIBLIOGRAPHIES
511. Northup, Clark Sutherland. A Register of Bibliographies of the English Language and Literature. New York: Hafner Publishing, 1925. Rept. 1962.
This bibliography is arranged with a general section and then by individual authors and topics. Indexed. Useful for identification of classic bibliographies of the Victorian period, especially those found in periodicals.
512. Wortman, William A., ed. A Guide to Serial Bibliographies for Modern Literatures. 2nd ed. New York: The Modern Language Association of America, 1995.
This guide is modeled on Richard Grayâs Serial Bibliographies in the Humanities and Social Sciences (item 201). However, it focuses on materials of use to students of literature. It covers all nationalities and periods of literature, and bibliographies on both broad topics and specific authors. Entries are arranged topically and include a brief annotation. Very useful.
