Titch

The kill room in the clubhouse has seen its share of blood over the years. Often, the coppery scent of it hangs in the air, but today, all I can smell is the bleach used to clean up.

I pace the concrete floor of the dark, dank room, my mouth tugging into a smirk. I want to kill Greg, but first, I’m going to have my fun. I’m going to revisit every hurt he’s put on my son, on Rachel, and then some.

Fury lays out the weapons he uses in his torture on top of the table and then meets my eyes.

“You sure you want to do this?”

Usually, we leave Fury to have his fun, but this shit is personal. I don’t want anyone else to do this. I don’t have the same lust for torture as Fury. Under normal circumstances, I’d leave him to it, but these circumstances are far from normal.

I twist to look at Greg who Levi and Nox have strung up from the ceiling hook. His cheek is already bruising from where I slugged him as soon as I got him in the car and there’s sweat beading on his forehead.

His eyes dart around, terror shining in them. He’s right to be scared. This is not going to go well for him.

“Yeah, brother. I want to do this.”

Fury looks a little disappointed—hardly surprising. He lives for the blood lust and he enjoys inflicting pain. That he’s about to miss out on this victim won’t sit well with him.

Even so, he melts back into the shadows to go stand with Nox and Levi, who are both leaning against the wall.

“You can’t do this,” Greg practically wails. “It’s not right.”

“Beating a fourteen-year-old boy isn’t right either,” I say in a voice that is calmer than I feel. “Didn’t stop you.”

“The boy was unruly. He needed bringing back into line.”

It’s the wrong thing to say. My anger flares to life like a fire that’s been doused in kerosene. I slam my fist into his belly so hard I feel my knuckles shift in their sockets.

Greg gasps, sucking in a huge breath, as if I stole all the air from his lungs with that one hit. I grin. I can’t help myself. I want to inflict as much damage as I can, and I’m only just getting started.

“You’re going to die for what you did.”

Fear ripples across his face, his eyes flaring wide and his chin wobbling. As I pick up the nearest instrument off the table—a short bladed knife—Rachel’s words flit across my brain. Don’t kill him. Fuck, what does she think I’m going to do to the man who hurt my kid, my wife—ex-wife?

No, she’s not my ex-wife. Rachel’s never been anything but mine. Even when she divorced me and married this scumbag, she was still mine and I think we both know that. My feelings for her have never changed, my need to protect her has never disappeared. Seeing her bruised face nearly made me lose my mind. The fact Greg raised a hand to one of the most important people in my life makes me want to gut him.
