Question?

How do I check whether the patient is taking other medications?

Every time you prescribe a medication or natural remedy, ask ¿Está tomando otras medicinas? (ehs-TAH toh-MAHN-doh OH-trahs meh-dee-SEE-nahs), for “Are you taking any other medications?” Drug interactions may make your drug less effective and may cause side effects or serious health risks.

To explain the frequency of which the medication needs to be taken, you can use cada . . . horas (CAH-dah . . . OH-rahs), for “every . . . hours,” or . . . veces al día (VEH-sehs ahl DEE-ah), for “ . . . times per day.”

Take one every four hours.

Tome uno/a cada cuatro horas.
