CHAPTER 33

Our Big Day

Seven months later

“I’m as big as a house! Nothing fits! I can’t walk down to the justice of the peace looking like a beached whale!” I yelled, as Carl and Elise witnessed my meltdown.

“Stop being so dramatic, you’re pregnant and do not look like a beached whale. You’ve barely gained twenty pounds, it only looks like you just recently swallowed a grape.” Carl said, trying to reassure me that I didn’t look fat.

“You look beautiful, Gen. Stop beating yourself up. You are glowing and are the furthest thing from a beached whale. Just wait until Aaron gets a load of you.” She said, wagging her eyebrows, suggesting I was still one hot mama.

“If both of you say so.” I sniffed, wiping away my tears.

“We do say so!” They both yelled.

“Jeez, you don’t have to holler at me.” Cue the waterworks all over again. I swore those hormones were a real bitch!

“Genesis, you should listen to your friends there.” Hearing a voice that I didn’t recognize had me turning around to see who it belonged to. I wasn’t ready to come face to face to a handsome man that could easily pass for Aaron. Not all his features reminded me of Aaron, just his height and the thickness of his muscles. He’s very handsome without even comparing him to Aaron.

“I’m sorry, who are you?” Keeping my voice calm because I was anything but calm at that moment.

“My name is Greyson, I’m here with Aaron.” He said, extending his hand out to me. I grabbed it in a firm grip and didn't miss the sparks that ignited when we touched.

“Why haven’t I seen you before?” How was it that we’ve never crossed paths?

“You’ve seen me, but we’ve never been formally introduced. I was there when he almost ran you over.” He chuckled.

“Almost! Almost ran me over, how rude. If you were there then you know it was closer than ‘almost’.” I informed him.

“Hey, I’m on your side. You really do look beautiful on your big day. These two are right.” He jerked his head in Elise and Carl’s direction. “You should listen to them and go easy on them. They are only trying to help.” He winked.

“Okay.” What the hell was that? Why did I just agree with him and not put up a fight? I thought as tears slid down my face.

“Alright, either you stop this, or Aaron really won’t marry you.” Carl threatened, wiping away my tears while Elise grabbed the makeup bag to redo my eyeliner.

“I’m sorry, I can’t seem to control it. Will somebody help me, please?” I sobbed uncontrollably now.

“Maybe I can help?” His voice took on a deeper baritone, but I knew it anywhere.

Slowly turning around, I saw my knight in shining armor standing at the entrance to the courthouse, and he looked radiant. Standing there in a black tux, a white undershirt, and a navy-blue bow tie was Aaron. My Aaron and soon-to-be husband. I managed to keep it together as he made his way down to me.
