Cal loaded up the holo-projector as his two mates slept across the cabin. He had never seen Ty as happy as he had this morning when he had realised he was pregnant. Well, at least he was happy when he wasn't vomiting into the bowl Jax had patiently held out for him. He hoped the morning sickness would pass as quickly for Ty as it had for Jax.

Jax snored and rolled onto his side. Ty, still asleep as well, shifted closer.

With two pregnant mates, Cal had a feeling he should enjoy the quiet while he could. He suspected that once Jax's litter arrived, these moments of solitude would be few and far between.

The hologram in front of him showed the Canine Information Network and Cal scrolled through the news stories, searching for the ones that brought news from Furyne.

Abducted.

The headline flashed bright red.

Cal skimmed the story. He wasn't surprised to see it was about Ty. The report dated back to a month after they had gone off-world. It seemed Ty's family had managed to keep things quiet for a few days before the news leaked out.

The main focus of the story was on Ty, his position, his family, and his new mate, Jax. Cal barely got a mention, just a single line about Ty's primary food source also being missing.

He supposed he should’ve been grateful they weren't placing some portion of blame on him. Still, it stung not to be included in the story as the mate of Ty and Jax. "Once a food source, always a food source."

He read through the story again, taking his time to recall everything about it so he could update Ty and Jax when they woke. At least he could assure them that the first report about their disappearance didn't contain any indication that the people of Furyne knew where they were. It didn't even suggest that they might be off-world at all. For the moment they were still safely hidden.
