Jerica

Isat in the quiet room as I waited for someone to come in and talk with me. The shit that Tank told me about Mack had me pissed off. Mack must have thought I was something to play with. I don’t know if he thought he was Tank and he could do me any kind of way, but the same rules did not apply for him as well. It had been two days since I got the news, and I had been ignoring his every call and text. I had to figure out how I could use that shit to my advantage before I spoke with him.

“Thank you for coming in,” the detective shook my hand. “I’m Detective Lamar Carter. I’ve been working the case along with Detective Brown.”

“I need to know what’s going on,” I expressed. “Is that something you can help me with?”

“Yes, I can. From what I have reviewed in the case it seems like Mr. Lee has struck a deal with the D.A. on the charges related to the business side.”

“What does that mean for me?”

“It means unless you have something that can connect the dots to him being the head of a drug organization, there isn’t going to be anything we can do.”

“I gave you all the info that I had. What was the agreement of his plea?”

“I’m not at liberty to tell you that.”

“What the fuck does that mean for me?! Will I be named on his paperwork?”

“I’ll do everything in my power for that not to happened. In the meantime we could offer you some witness protection for you and your kids.”

“Witness protection?! Have me and my kids uproot over lives because y’all couldn’t do y’all fuckin’ job, you got me fucked up!” I snapped as I stormed out of the interrogation room.

I got on the elevator to take it down to the lobby. I was so pissed off, I had tears coming down my face. I did everything that I was instructed to do, but it didn’t pan out how it was supposed to. I made my way out of the police station and to my car. I needed to figure out my next move. Plus, I needed to know what the fuck my instructor was going to do to help protect me.

“Yo, get ya ass off my damn car!” I snapped at the nigga leaning on my gray Kia K5.

“My bad, Jerica, I ain’t mean no disrespect,” he held his hands up in surrender. “I don’t need you snitching to the police on me too.”

“What the fuck did you just say to me?! I ain’t no snitch I was reporting an attempted break in at my home.”

“Yeah and you weren’t just in there talking to a detective about the case against Titan that you helped bring to the light. Yeah, alright.”

“I wasn’t and how do you know my name? Who are you?”

“Oh, I’m Nobody. It’s nice to finally meet you in person. And trust me I know everything just like I know what it is that you were really doing in there.
