1.10.3 Adding a New Disk

The summaries in this section assume that the disk has already been installed in the system. It was not possible to include all of the commands mentioned below in this reference.

1.10.3.1 AIX (using LVM)

Use cfgmgr to identify the new disk (if necessary).

Add the disk to a volume group (mkvg or extendvg). Activate any new volume group (varyonvg).

Create/enlarge logical volumes (mklv or extendlv).

Create filesystems (crfs).

Run fsck.
