Stood up again. If it wasn’t so pathetically hilarious, I would have cried. The guy didn’t even have the decency to make up some sob story or flat out lie. He just texted me a few minutes after I got here, saying he was going to bail because he’d found ‘a better option.’

I’ll give him a better option, I thought. Right to the balls. Sadly though, there was nothing I could do. Useless date number who-cares-anymore wasn’t worth me tracking him down. And seeing that I was already out at the place he chose, I settled in my seat at the Copperhead Tavern’s bar top and prepared to lose myself in a string of cocktails until I forgot what’s-his-name and no longer felt the sting of being rejected.
