Helen had wanted to kiss Noah since heâd pulled her into the rented hackney. After what sheâd witnessed in Grastonâs memories, sheâd wanted nothing more than to be blanketed in Noahâs touch, to revel in the warmth of it the way one basks in the sun. It fueled her desperation and made her kisses gasping and frantic.
He returned the fervor of her affection with his mouth and tongue and gentle nips of his teeth. Underneath her, the hardness of his desire strained urgently between them. She ground her hips against him, but it wasnât enough.
She sat up and straddled his hips, opening the sensitive place between her legs to cradle that glorious hardening need between his. She rolled her pelvis forward as she sank back down. He gave a low growl and curled his hands over her bottom, guiding her undulations, showing her how to ride this new sensation.
He lifted his hips, his maleness straining against the layers of cloth. Hot friction hummed between them and left her eager for the release sheâd experienced the evening before. Sheâd been unable to stop thinking of it for the better part of the day. The building tension in her body, the rise of delicious waves of pleasure pulsing around her until she was left totally and completely consumed. She wanted that again. She wanted that with him. Not from him. With him.
A memory slipped into her mind. A gentlewoman glowered down at the pale, thin body of a child and sneered in disgust. The boy closed his eyes tight and cowered away from the vehemence of her glare, as though the one imperfect leg, the one appearing to bend backward at the knee, were his fault.
This image was followed by a series of others of him wearing loose-legged trousers whenever possible, never taking them off, not even when he was alone.
She pushed away the memories, wanting only to concentrate on the now, not the past. It was more easily done than sheâd anticipated. There was something to this man that enabled her to possess control over her abilities in a way she never had before. And she would thank him in the best way she knew how - by making him realize his own self-perceived inadequacies were not even remotely the abomination he believed. She would show him exactly how perfect he was, how desirable.
She gave in to her growing want and tugged his cravat loose. It wasnât enough. She wanted more. Or less, as it were. Less clothing, until they were stripped down and naked. Skin to skin.
He seemed to be of the same thought, for his hands had left her bottom, the rhythm between them well established, and ran over every perfect, delicious curve. Down her waist, up to her breasts, cupping and then sliding inside the neckline to find the pert bud of her nipple. She cried out into his mouth and tugged his waistcoat open to start on his shirt.
âHelen.â Her name tore from his throat in a growl.
