“Nigga, his mama standing right there. Hand his cry baby ass to her.” He looked at me.

"I need her help," I told him as I placed DJ in his arms. This nigga was looking at my baby with his face all twisted.

“If you start all that damn crying, I’mma put yo’ lil’ ass outside.” He told DJ and I was having second thoughts about leaving my damn kid with him. I eased the baby bag down by the couch and pulled Melani quickly out the door.

“Mano, we can’t leave DJ!” She spoke as we jumped in the car.

“We are staying at the Four Seasons, and DJ is staying with your mom and dad for the night. Your mom is on her way home, and she told me to leave DJ with your dad,” I told her as I backed out of the driveway. This nigga Gabe must have been on to us ‘cause he came running out of the house.

"Hell nawl! Come back here and get this baby!" He yelled, holding DJ in the air. I drove off as if we didn't see or hear his ass. Both Melani and I were laughing because that nigga looked like he was about to go into cardiac arrest. I'm glad there wasn't much traffic out and we made it to the hotel in under thirty minutes. Melani didn't say much on the way here. When we walked into the room, she sat on the couch and was still giving me the silent treatment.

"Listen, I know you're upset. Hell, I'm pissed off about this shit too. Veronica is a conniving ass bitch and I'm gone deal with her ass. We're about to get married and as my girl, you can't believe everything you see and hear. She wants us to fall apart; that's her fuckin plan, and you letting her ass win. I never married this girl, and I knew nothing about her having a baby. Once we split up, I was done with her ass. I wanted nothing else to do with her. If I knew she was pregnant I would have been there for my child. Lani, you should have seen the bullshit conditions they were living in. That bitch left her four-day old child with her mama. I would have never allowed that shit to happen. I moved the baby and her grandmother into my house in Harlem. I took the DNA test earlier today, and if Kemani turns out to be my daughter, we will raise her. Because her bitch ass mama gone be dead and that's on me! I love you from the deepest part of me, shawty. I just need you to rock this shit out with me and know that I would never do you wrong." I pulled her up from the couch, wiping the tears away from her eyes.

“If you didn’t marry her, how is this all legal?” She asked, and that is something that I have been asking myself.

“I have no idea, Juelz is helping me figure this shit out.
