I could never stop admiring Malina’s silhouette. She looked absolutely stunning, her chocolate skin working in perfect combination with the crimson shades she constantly wore. Her curves accentuated the dresses, filling them with lust and trained movements to spark desire.

By my calculations, the harem leader must have been in her fifties, but she didn’t look a day older than her mid-thirties. I had spotted a massive collection of creams and skin products which I assumed she used on a daily basis to keep her looking young, and they worked wonders.

I wondered if Dorian still required her visits, though I didn’t want to offend her by asking.

“Hi, Malina,” I greeted her when the guards released me and made themselves scarce, disappearing out the door.

“Hello, girlie,” she replied, her usual cheer disappearing through the crack of that forced smile. I liked Malina, she was the better part of my days when I had to see Dorian and I liked how she taught me things and talked to me unashamedly, never treating me like a prisoner.

She helped me bathe and sometimes she let me use her gels and serums to have softer skin. Not that it mattered to Dorian, but I was a woman. I enjoyed a good pampering session. And Galenor had started to reap the benefits of my newly soft skin, so it was a win-win for everyone.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, worried that something might have happened. Especially after the way Dorian and I left things. The way he left things. I didn’t have much say in the matter, truth be told.

I must admit, I enjoyed taunting Dorian.

It was an extreme sport, and I must have been an adrenaline junkie, because every time I saw that male, all I could think about was ways to piss him off and see that nerve pulsate in his temple. The fact that he ended up destroying his furniture in the process was an added bonus. Honestly, I never knew what came over me when I was in the presence of the crowned prince, but there was a dark side of me that wanted to meet his own.

As if I could recognise a part of him and wanted to join in, provoking him to a clash. Only when I got a reaction out of him, I could finally breathe easy.

And I seemed to do my job quite well, if the last few encounters were to be considered.

“The prince is having a bad day,” Malina replied, her chest heaving with a deep sigh.

I chuckled with a mocking tone.

“Wow, the prince is having a bad day,” I teased, cupping my cheeks. “What are we going to do?” I blinked wide eyes at her, doing my best to earn a smile from the very worried harem leader.

“I hope your sense of humour stays with you this evening. You’re going to need it,” Malina sighed and pointed to the door, inviting me to enter the bathing chamber.

Sad that my joke didn’t work, and with no other choice but to obey, I walked to the door and pushed it open.
