Lash: Chapter 11

Time crawled by. I swear the fucking clock stopped moving. If it wasn’t for my club and family, I’d have lost my mind and torn the place apart hours ago. It had been three hours since they told me they took her to surgery. We’d been updated a couple of times that she was still in surgery and that the doctor would come to talk to us as soon as she was done. They didn’t have any news as far as what they found or if she was gonna be alright. I knew they couldn’t tell me that, but I still wanted to hear it. The longer it took, the worse I knew it was.

I was no longer sitting. I couldn’t. I was pacing. Another family had come to the door but left when they saw us. If someone didn’t come out soon and tell me what the hell was goin’ on, I’d snap. Amend that. I was done. I stormed toward the door. I was getting answers no matter what I had to do.

“Shit,” I heard one of the guys mutter.

“There he goes,” another said.

“Get him.” I think it was Reaper who ordered that. Chair legs scraped, and footsteps came for me. I gave them all my best “step back or die” glare.

“I need fucking answers, and you’re not stopping me,” I snapped at them.

“We’re fine for you to ask, but you look like you’re about to explode. If you do, they’ll kick your ass out,” Tinker warned me.

“What would you do if that was your woman?” I snarled at him.

“Lose my shit and hope my brothers will keep me in check,” was his immediate response.

He was shoved but barely rocked on his feet. Then I saw Annie squeezing by him and coming for me with a determined look on her face. She stopped in front of me with her hands on her hips. She gave me a stern glare. “You stay here, and I’ll go ask. If you get yourself kicked out of here, I’ll smack you myself. Sorry it took so long to get here. I was outta town when Alisse called.”

“Where were you?” Tinker asked.

“None of your business, nosy. Now, let me go find out something before Lash’s head explodes and he becomes a patient,” she said with a wink, then she was gone.

It took almost everything I had not to follow her, but the guys diverted my attention by talking about Annie.

“She’s been out of town a lot lately. I wonder what she’s been doing?” Sandman mused.

“I think she’s got a man,” Crusher said with a smirk.

“A man? Why? What did she say?” Tink immediately jumped in to ask. He was frowning hard. A few others grumbled a bit, but he appeared upset.

“Nothing, but she’s been smiling more, and I saw her all dolled up one day. I asked her where she was headed, and she said out of town. That’s all she’d tell me,” Crusher said.
