CHAPTER 18- TANK

Rolling over in my bed, I thanked God for another day. He brought us out some shit and I was grateful for being given the chance to be with my family. Knowing Suave wanted food ready when I got home, I got my ass up and jumped in the shower. I knew not to play with him, he was one of those silent threats and killers. He was one of the sweetest people ever until you crossed him. In the beginning, we bumped heads a lot because he wanted me to quit acting like a street thug and be the mother to our child. That’s who I was though, Lashay Wright a bitch from the streets.

To keep a happy home, we both agreed to leave that shit in the past and raise our son. Kendyl Jamison, Jr. but we call him Deuce. Our big boy was now two years old. When Gangsta moved here, I thought it was going to be hell. That man scared me so bad if he walked in the room I got goose bumps. Over time, we grew close but he still has ways about him that shake my ass to the core. Having a baby changed him and Paradise. I’ve never met a couple that was equally sick in the head. Laughing at my own joke, I went in the kitchen and started making some steak, potatoes, and asparagus. Feeling my pussy jump, I knew he had walked up behind me. Turning around, I kissed him and sucked on his bottom lip.

“The food will be ready in a minute baby.”

“Fuck that food, go get dressed I want to take you out.” Looking in his eyes, I knew it was some bullshit in the game.

“You’re not going back.” If I didn’t know anything else, I knew my husband. Even though he was calm and laid back all the time, he had a certain look in his eyes when he was about to kill somebody. Knowing he had no enemies here, that could only mean one thing.

“What did I tell you about demanding some shit with me. I’m the nigga and you my wife. Act like it.”

“NO YOU ACT LIKE IT. How could you make that decision without talking to me first? You just said I’m your wife, then I should have a say so.”

“It’s not for good, I just have to go help my people. It won’t take long.”

“How many times have we been through this? We barely made it out the last two. You have a child to live for and I’m not about to let you go and possibly get hurt over somebody else shit.”

“Loyalty means everything to me and I need you to understand there are some people in my life I have to be there for no matter what. If something happened to Smalls or Nik, do you think I would sit here and not do shit?”

“I get what you are saying, but the minute you said I do and had a child, we became your top priority.
