Dorsal fin

The dorsal fin is knitted onto the part of the edge without the garter stitch border. With RS facing, pick up and k 15 sts across center edge of scarf, beg on 2nd ridge of garter stitch border to one side of plain edge and ending on 2nd ridge of garter stitch border on the other side.

Row 1 (WS): K1, p to last st, k1.

Row 2: K1, m1, k to last 3 sts, skpo, k1.

Row 3: K1, p2tog, p to last st, k1. (14 sts)

Rep rows 2–3, 3 times more. (11 sts)

Row 10: Knit to last 3 sts, skpo, k1. (10 sts)

Row 11: K1, p2tog, p to last st, k1. (9 sts)

Rep rows 10–11 twice more. (5 sts)

Row 16: K2tog, k1, skpo. (3 sts)

Row 17: Sl1, k2tog, psso. (1 st)

Break yarn and fasten off.
