I feel like I’m having an outer body experience. The conversation I listened in on as a child, makes sense now, my mom betrayed Auntie Rose. I was fatherless, when I didn’t have to be, she owes me the truth about who I am.

“It’s all my fault, I did an unthinkable act, ruining my relationship with both my sisters. I also wreaked havoc on you and Autumn’s life in the process. You might not ever forgive me, but you deserve the truth.” I started to cut my mom off, but Kane squeezed my hand, so I let her continue.

“One night Rose had a get together at her house. We were all hanging out drinking, playing cards, enjoying the night. I was too intoxicated to walk home, even though it wasn’t far at all. Rose suggested I sleep it off on the couch and go home in the morning.” I can just imagine where this story is heading.

“David, Rose’s boyfriend at the time, comes home late. He mistakes me for her, and I just went along with it. I don’t know what I was thinking…” Auntie Rose cuts her off.

“You were thinking with your rotten ass pussy, bitch! He told me he realized it wasn’t me, once he entered your cesspool, but his scum ass finished anyway. You were my sister, my identical twin sister! How could you do this to me, to us?” I’ve never heard my auntie talk like that; I was taken back a little.

“Ok, so you got pregnant that night Auntie Lily?” Autumn questioned.

“Yes, and I told everyone it was this guy I was dealing with baby. Once Candy was born, there was no denying it, she was the splitting image of David.” Sweet baby Jesus, my mom is crazier than I thought.

“Yeah, and I never knew they slept together, until I laid eyes on Candy. By then I was already pregnant with Autumn, so excited to be a mother. I confronted them both, they had an agreement to never tell me, but he wasn’t aware she was carrying his child. She lied about her due date, fucking whore!”

“I might be a whore, but you are a murderer!” my mom roars as she hops off the bed.

Next thing I know, my auntie Rose charges at my mom, knocking her to the floor, and starts wailing on her. Everyone rushes over to break it up, except for Autumn and I. I don’t care if they beat each other senseless at this point.

“Stop it right now! This is just why I don’t come around. You would never know you two marinated in the same womb together. Rose you’re the oldest, by three damn minutes, act like it and think about y’all children for once!” demanded Auntie Bird.

“Mom, why would she call you a murderer?” Autumn inquired, but auntie Rose didn’t answer. She just adjusted her wig and fixed her clothes.

“Your mother told our brother Pete what happened, knowing he would react the way he did. Pete drowned y’all father in Rose’s tub, and we know she had something to do with it, but Pete said it was all him.
