Chapter 14

Alyssa set us down on the top of the castle’s highest tower. Big Purple the pecker perched on the parapet with his tentacles slashing the air around him. Sammy’s bolting boner and balls darted around it, still singing Captain Kidd.

“Blast ye blowhard bastards!” Sammy yelled at his own junk. They swooped and sang and didn’t care.

“Oscar?” I shouted. “Are you here?”

“Juniper?” he cried.

I ran toward the edge of the tower, giving the dildo a wide breadth, and peered over. Some of Purple’s tentacles wrapped around Oscar, holding him in midair a meter or so from the tower. His arms were pinned to his side and his pale face was streaked with red tears.

“Are you hurt?” I called.

He gazed at me with big, green eyes like a puppy. “No… I tried shifting again, but the tentacles grabbed me. Juniper, I don’t want to be crushed. I don’t want to die again.”

He had already died once, not that long ago. Murdered in the ice cream factory by a madman who wanted to taint the frozen treat with vampire blood. After bringing him back to life accidentally, I had promised that no one would ever harm him again. I had the power to keep him safe.

But tonight, I didn’t have that ability anymore.

“Don’t worry, I’ll save you.” It was a lie. He should worry because I didn’t know if I could save him.

“Juniper?”

“Yeah?”

“I’m glad you found me.”

He believed in me so much still. My shoulders drooped and I looked away. “Hold on tight!”

“I can’t do anything else,” he said with a forced lightness in his voice as though he was trying to joke. His gaze slid past me to the sky. “Are those balls? And…” He squinted. “Sammy’s cock?”

“Oscar, grab ’em!” Sammy called.

“I can’t! Why are your balls flying?”

“He sneezed too hard and they fell off,” I said, then turned to face Big Purple.

“I’ll cast a freeze spell… I mean, a fly spell?” Dad said.

I shook my head. “Every spell will backfire and Big Purple will keep wreaking havoc.” I took a deep breath. “I need to take away Purple’s life force. Withdraw the magic that animates him. Without my spells on him, he’ll just be a giant limp cock.”

“You mean… Kill him,” Shakes said with a frown.

“Yeah. Kill him.” I swallowed hard. “When I do, can you fly Oscar to safety?” I asked Alyssa.

She nodded. “I’ll cast a drop spell rather than a hover spell because your magic is on him.”

Fuck, I hoped that worked.

“I can help,” Dad said, but I ignored him and faced Purple.

Sammy grabbed my arm. “Ye ain’t de-livening me cock and balls, are ye? Will they still work if ye do? Will I… still be here?”

“If I remove the spells on your cock, you’ll become a ghost again. But we should be able to temporarily calm the curse as we did earlier. Oscar first, then your balls.”

Sammy heaved a sigh. “Aye, rescue the vampire before the most important part of me anatomy.”

“That would be your brain,” I said.
