THINGS WERE CALM FOR a few days.

Cole was either avoiding me or he was busy with other things, and a part of me was glad that I didn’t have to look at him every day.

I dropped my bag to the floor and threw myself on my bed.

My phone vibrated, making me yelp because I’d forgotten it was in the pocket of my jeans. When I pulled it out, it vibrated again.

And again.

And again.

Okay, something was definitely wrong with my phone.

It shouldn’t be vibrating so much.

But when I tapped the screen, I realized that it wasn’t a glitch or a sign that my phone was dying.

My inbox was flooded with messages.

What the hell was going on now?

I opened the first message and immediately closed it.

A dick pic.

Someone had sent me a dick pic.

Eww.

Where was mind bleach when I needed it?

The next message was inviting me to a party.

Some kind of a sexy party.

Another guy was telling me that he really liked me and would like to be my friend.

Yeah, friend.

Suuure.

Why was there a pic of him shirtless attached to the message then?

Someone I actually vaguely knew from school wanted me to come over because his parents were out of town.

What the actual fuck?

How come none of these guys were worried about catching an STD?

And how the hell had they gotten my number?

And why was one of them commenting on my photos and calling them sexy?

I was pretty sure I hadn’t posted anything sexy recently.

Something was wrong.

It had to be.

I wouldn’t be getting all these messages otherwise.

But then I found it.

Some guy said he really liked my profile.

What profile?

I followed the link he’d sent and let out a groan.

At this point, it was hard for anything to shock me.

So when I realized that someone had created fake social media accounts with some of my pics and a lot of sexy fake ones that belonged to who knew what woman—the head was conveniently cut off—I didn’t even feel anger.

Annoyance, maybe.

Ugh.

It took me more than a few minutes to report all the profiles so they’d be taken down, and when I was done, I turned off my phone.

I’d have to get a new number if those guys didn’t stop.

Was Cole behind all of it?

Or was it someone else?

For some reason, I didn’t want to believe that Cole had done this.

He wouldn’t put me at risk like this, would he?

Maybe he really didn’t care anymore and he wanted to show me that.

Or maybe one of his friends had gotten the wrong idea.

Hell, it could’ve been anyone from that damn school.

Still, I had to make sure that I didn’t suffer any consequences because of this.

I got to my feet and headed for the door. My mom was in the kitchen, and she looked up at me as soon as I entered.

“Oh hey, honey,” she said with a smile. “Do you want me to make you a sandwich?”

“No, thanks. I have to talk to you about something. It’s very important.”

“Yeah, sure. What is it?” Her brow furrowed.
