Make a conscious effort to stop everything you are doing when someone communicates with you and fully immerse yourself in what they are saying. You will discover it takes effort but it is worthwhile.

Don’t allow emails to rule your working life. Take back control and schedule three or four email respond times in your diary. Focus on your telephone communications and turn off email notifications.

Take an email-trail audit and understand your patterns and how many emails are going back and forth to the same person with the same subject line. You may be surprised how much time you are wasting.
