He Lied To Me
Yetta
It had been a week since I last spoke to Cody. I didnât have anything to say to him after what I found out. He still called and texted me, thinking that would mean anything to me. I was big on trust and couldnât trust him after what I found out. He wanted me to stop talking to Noah, but he was still talking and dealing with his crackhead baby mama. He wanted me to be all about him when he wasnât about me. It was all good, though. Although I missed him, going back wasnât an option. I wouldnât be a fool for no man. No matter how good his loving was.
Today I was getting together with LeLee. I missed my friend, and she hadnât heard me tell her the whole story since she had been working and sleeping. I was getting dressed to go to her apartment since her ass wanted me to bring a burger from Boboâs. I didnât want to go there since I had a feeling, Iâd be running into Cody. I didnât want to. I was doing a good job of avoiding him and wanted to keep it that way.
After I was dressed in a black turtleneck sweater with blue jeans, I was heading out of the door. On my porch was a vase of flowers and a salad dish with a note attached to it. With my mouth widened, I plucked the note from the salad bag and read it.
I know you donât believe me, but I am sorry for the way things went down at my house. I hope you find it in yoâ heart to forgive me. If you give me another chance, I promise I wonât fuck up again. Honestly, Iâm missinâ the hell out of you right now and wishinâ you were here witâ me. May I have a second chance?
-Cody
I didnât know what to say or do after reading that note. I hadnât expected it at all. The flowers looked so pretty, and the salad was my favorite kindâgrilled chicken. No matter how much I wanted to cave and give in, I wouldnât. Iâd be a damn fool if I did. I wasnât hard up for a man and didnât need one. Damn sure not one who was lying to me since we were in a relationship. I could do without that in my life.

âNow girl, tell me what happened again from the beginninâ,â LeLee said with a mouthful of burger.
We were sitting in her kitchen eating our food. The salad Cody got for me looked so damn good. Plus, he got Italian and Ranch dressing for it. He knew what I liked when it came to salad. I gave her a rundown of what happened between Codyâs baby mama and me. Plus, the fact that Cody lied to me.
âHmm, he wrong as hell for lyinâ to you like that but I think you should give him another chance.â
I gawked at her. âYou are out yoâ damn mind.
