After I finished my classes, I received a call from Cole telling me to meet him at his apartment because he had a surprise for me. I was excited to find out what it was so I rushed to my car and was on my way to his place immediately.

I arrived in no time and was greeted at the door by my very handsome, sexy man who was looking and smelling amazing. He embraced me with a hug accompanied by a kiss that had my entire body weak.

“What’s up sexy?” He finally spoke after he freed me from the kiss we shared.

“Nothing, what’s my surprise?” I asked getting right to it.

“Damn baby, I’m happy to see you too.” He smirked and took my hand.

I leaned into him a little as he led the way to his room. When we got there he stopped at his closed door and looked at me.

“So you said I need to get in touch with my sensitive side so I got you something.” He delivered a pleased grin.

“I’m all for gifts but I need you to be more sensitive to other people's feelings not mine.”

“Man fuck anybody but you. They can kiss my ass.” He frowned looking so serious which made me laugh.

“See, that right there is what I mean.” He smirked and looked down at me.

“You want your present or what? I didn’t ask you for all that. Stop fucking analyzing me Hayven. I’m good. Shit I been this way all my life.”

“I’m sure you have because you have it perfected. What’s my present?”

He chuckled and opened his bedroom door. On his dresser was a tiny pink and gray pet carrier and I immediately heard a tiny meow come from it.

“You got me a cat.” I looked at him confused and his smile dropped.

“Yeah, a kitten. The lady at the store said that you’d love it.”

“I bet she was trying to kick it to you when she said that.” I rolled my eyes and walked over to the carrier. After opening the tiny gate that was a door, I peeked inside and found the most adorable fluffy little thing I had ever seen in my life. It was pale gray and cowering in the corner of the carrier.

“Ah it’s so cute.” I reached and used both hands to gently pull it out.

Cole smiled at me smiling at the kitten. “Girl or boy?”

“Girl.” You know I’m not about to have you snuggling up with another nigga Hayven.”

I frowned at him and he was looking at the kitten with his brows dipped in.

“Seriously. Please tell me you're joking.”

“I can’t because I’m not. I mean that shit.” His expression was neutral and I knew he meant it.

“You’re so damn extra.”

“Nah, not really. If I got a boy, you’d have to give it a guy name and then be loving on that shit. I wasn’t having no parts of that. You like it though?”

“I love it. I’ll visit her all the time.”

“Visit? Nah she’s yours, you can take her with you.
