Chapter Eight

Bid felt like her bones had become insubstantial after the best orgasm she’d ever had. She had a few self-induced orgasms over the last year before she’d started dreaming about these three men, but they paled in comparison to the nirvanic bliss she’d just experienced. And if this was how she felt without them making love to her, she suspected that if she did adhere to her body’s needs and go further, she just might not survive.

She wondered if their dragons were putting out huge amounts of pheromones, because as they continued to run their hands over her just satisfied body—in a soothing non-sexual way—it began to perk right back up again.

“You are amazing, baby.” Eli kissed her knee. “I love the flavor of your honey and how completely you let go when you come.”

“You’re the sexiest woman I’ve ever met.” Erwin kissed her shoulder.

“We all want you, Bid,” Ed said before leaning down and kissing her lingeringly on the lips.

“I–I…” Her brain still seemed to be flying high and she couldn’t seem to think coherently. She was so confused. Okay, she got that they thought she was their mate, but they didn’t know her. Not in the true sense of the word and suspected they only wanted her because of their inner dragons. Did she truly want to agree to be with them and then have her heart ripped out because they grew tired of her? She’d always dreamed of finding someone who loved her for herself, not because of their genetic makeup.

Plus there was all this supposed danger from the hunters and her ex-boss Wally.

“Talk to us, sweetheart.” Ed was frowning at her and she realized after a couple of moments it may be because she was also frowning.

Could they pick up on her emotions? Did what she was feeling affect them so strongly after knowing them for just over twenty-four hours? The dreams she’d been having over the last six months flashed through her mind and she rethought her last question. Could they know her because of those dreams they’d supposedly shared? Could they have seen into her soul and know her inner spirit?

If someone had told her a week ago that dream sharing was possible, let alone that dragon shifters existed, she would have laughed in their face and then called for the men in little white coats.

Bid had no idea what to think, what to feel. But one thing was certain, and that was she just couldn’t make herself walk away. The thought of doing so caused a pain in her chest so acute she had to gasp in a breath and stop herself from doubling over.

“Belinda!” Erwin’s voice and face was full of worry and before she knew what was happening, she was lifted from the sofa and onto his lap. The pain in her heart eased at his touch and she burrowed into him soaking up his heat and scent. “Are you all right, honey?”

“What’s wrong, baby?” Eli rubbed a hand up and down her back.
