CEDRICK (ROCK)
I decided I needed to tell mother about Monica. She has hopes of her and my father getting back together but this is a piece of information she needs to know.
âHey, mother.â I said as I walked to the garden as usual.
âHey son. What you up to?â She asked in a tone I had never heard before and I didnât want to dapper her mood, but this had to be done.
âI need to talk to you.â
âOkay, shoot.â She told me in a joking voice.
âWell, I found out we have a sister.â I said and waited for the explosion.
âOkay son.â Was all she said, and it surprised me.
I looked into my motherâs eyes and itâs like she was in another world.
âYou can bring her to dinner this Friday. I would like to meet her. Iâll talk to you later son.â Momma said and kissed me on the cheek.
I didnât know what to do with myself. That went better than I thought. As I was leaving mommas garden, I saw a bone on the ground. I just kicked it and went about my business.
I got in the house and Sid and Kaio were arguing, and they stopped when they saw me. I didnât even bother to get in their shit. That was between them. I was happy with my woman. He was a damn fool for letting that go. But they say one manâs trash is another manâs treasure. Very true.
I got in my car and called Clarissa to see how it was going at the shop and she said terrific. I told her id pick her up for lunch and headed that way. I made it to the street the shop was on, and I saw Rob riding down the opposite way.
âWhat the fuck is he doing on this side of town!â I said out loud.
I called Marco quick and told him I just saw Rob and he said he had no idea. I hung up and just sat in front of the shop for a while and pondered.
âWhat the fuck could he be doing over here.â It had me puzzled.
I sat there so long Clarissa was tapping on my car window. I jumped out of my trance and rolled the window down.
âHey you.â She said and gave me a kiss.
âHey.â I said not to let her know something was wrong as she got in the car.
âWhatâs wrong Cedrick?â She asked and I guess it didnât work.
âLook I have a question to ask you. Have Rob been to your shop or been by for anything?â I asked her.
âNo, why do you ask that?â
âBecause I just saw him riding down the street.â
âI wonder what heâs doing over here. He only comes around unless there is money involved. Thatâs how he rolls.â Clarissa said.
âWell, he got something going on over here, heâs riding in this area.â I said puzzled.
