“You think you can fuck my bitch and get away with it!” Ripper screamed into his face but Mark’s only reply was a moan of pain. “You made a big mistake batty bouy.” His switchblade was suddenly in his hand; ready to commit murder.

“Please don’t do it Ripper,” I begged, finally finding my voice; my unadulterated fear caused it to waver as the words slipped by my lips.

“You brought this on him,” he smirked evilly before thrusting his blade into Mark’s neck. A crazed look was on his face as he stabbed Mark over and over again. Each thrust filled with a hate-filled savagery.

As bright red blood spurted from my lover’s wounds, his throat made one final gurgle and then his body stopped moving.

A keening wail escaped my throat and filled the room with a scream that was rife with agony.

“Bitch shut the fuck up!” Ripper snarled and without conscious thought I snapped my mouth shut. “Get dressed and let’s go.”

I shook my head at him as a torrent of tears ran down my cheeks.

He glared at me. “Don’t fuck with me right now Mel. Get dressed or I’m gonna drag you out of here naked.”

He grabbed my clothes off the floor and threw them at me. I knew he would carry out his threat if I didn’t obey him so I snatched up the clothes and quickly slipped into them.

When I was done getting dressed he picked up my Gucci purse from the bedside table. “Is this the only thing you brought with you?”

“Yes,” I croaked, sniffling back my tears.

“Let’s go.” His hand latched onto my arm and dragged me from the room. His car was parked in front of the door; I guess he had been prepared for a quick getaway. After pushing me into the passenger side seat he got behind the wheel, glaring at me as he shook his head as though in disbelief. “I can’t believe you’d do some shit like this to me. Not after everything I did for your trifling ass. Risking my freedom to take care of a hoe like you.”

I ignored his rant; nothing he said could hurt more than watching Mark die. Sobs racked my body as I folded in on myself. I couldn’t believe he was dead. Why did I get him involved in my life when I knew how crazy Ripper could be?

“Shut the fuck up and stop crying over that bitch nigga,” Ripper ordered as he pulled out of the hotel’s lot and into traffic. “Your dumb ass thought you could get away with fucking around on me. I’ve been on to you from the day you lied about going to dinner with Mickey. I knew it was only a matter of time before I caught you and when I overheard you making plans with that nigga today I knew all I had to do was leave and give you the opportunity to carry out your little plan. Unfortunate for you while you thought I had left I was just down the block waiting to follow your dumb ass.
