The Palm Walk that ran between the Royal Poinciana and The Breakers was reserved exclusively for pedestrians. Wheeled vehicles used the adjacent trail. Lined with palm trees and other exotic plantings, the walkway offered a shaded, scenic promenade for guests out for a stroll or a visit to the resortâs seaside attractions.
Ask Mr. Foster? was the travel agent for Gilded Age tourists, with offices in major cities and resort locales. This Ask Mr. Foster? office was located across from the Royal Poinciana. Other locations included Flaglerâs Cordova Hotel in St. Augustine and Henry Plantâs Tampa Bay Hotel. Services included travel arrangements by train or steam and hotel reservations and information, including âletters of introduction that will help to smooth your way.â
