I locked eyes with Armani and my insides boiled. I couldn’t believe I was once friends with that hoe. On my first night in jail, my stomach started cramping so bad, I laid in my bunk curled in the fetal position and cried. After so long, I couldn’t take the pain anymore, so I yelled, asking the guard for some pain meds. Of course, my cries went unanswered.

It felt like I was gonna shit on myself. I dragged myself from the bunk and went to the toilet. I pulled my pants down and blood gushed from my pussy, scaring the shit out of me. I sat down on the toilet and screamed out in pain and fear. Finally, someone came to my rescue. The bars clanked as the guard inserted her key and slid them back.

“Aye, what the hell is going on in here?” she asked, putting her beady-looking eyes on me.

“I’m pregnant and something is clearly wrong!” I said, panicking while using one hand to hold onto my aching stomach and the other over my chest. It felt like I was gonna stop breathing any minute. All of a sudden, the room turned black and I woke up in a hospital-type setting.

“What happened? Is my baby ok?” I managed to get out.

“You had a miscarriage and passed out. Now that you are ok, I’ll have a guard escort you back to your cell,” the male nurse said to me with no compassion.

My feelings were hurt because without my baby, I had little to no chance with Blaze. Armani kicked me in my stomach when we fought, and that must’ve been the blow that took my child's life. I would never forgive her for that, and I was gonna be sure to inform Mark of all her dirty little secrets when I got out.

Because no one posted my bail, I had to serve ninety days. My mama was trying to raise the money to get me out but to no avail; I still sat in this musty ass cell.

“Briggs, you have a visitor.”

That shocked me because no one had been to see me, and I didn’t expect it either. I got up from my bunk and headed to the door, so I could go have my visit. I followed the guard down the hall to what looked like a gymnasium; it had tables and chairs set up for the visitors and inmates.

When I walked into the room, I looked around for a familiar face. My eyes landed on my mama’s boyfriend, and I got excited. I hoped like hell she sent him here with good news. I put a little pep in my step and quickly got to the table; I sat opposite him.

“Hey Steve, what’s up? Please tell me you have some good news!” I said, feeling really excited that he was even here.

“Hi baby girl, how have you been holding up?” he asked, giving me this weird look.

He threw me off calling me baby girl. He’d never called me anything other than my name.
