That sensation only triples when I walk into the kitchen and discover Darius waiting.

He slowly rises to his feet, pulling the chair out next to him, his eyes never leaving me.

Knowledge darkens his eyes, and I know without a doubt that he’d been privy to the show in the library as well. I tense as I approach, waiting for some snide or crude comment, but he’s a perfect gentleman as I perch on the edge of my chair.

Then the delicious aromas rising from the table grab my attention. Like a savage beast, I descend on the dishes, grabbing food and shoveling it in my mouth, barely chewing before I swallow. I don’t even bother with a plate as I shovel in more food. I have two fists full, ready to stuff in more food as soon as I can swallow my current mouthful, when the silence in the room finally registers.

I freeze and peer around the table from under my lashes.

Yup…the center of attention.

Preston stares at me in awe, his mouth open, his eyes wide. Darius’s fork is suspended over his plate, unmoving while he observes me. Elias acts like nothing is out of the ordinary, slowly, methodically chewing and swallowing while he watches me every second. He’s using his hands as well, but he’s more refined, while I resemble a two-year-old toddler with her first meal.

Very slowly, I lower my hands to my plate, my food dropping to it with a thwack.

Then I shrug.

Fuck it.

Too late to go back now.

I wipe the back of my arm across my mouth, then grin at them like a savage.
