Mildred sat in her lazy boy in her and Claudie’s bedroom as she looked out the window. She watched her loved ones enjoy themselves in her backyard.

Mildred yawned and relaxed in her chair. She was exhausted from the day’s activities. She enjoyed herself and her loved ones. She knew that this would be the last time she saw everyone together, and that alone gave her so much comfort.

“Mills, you took your medicine?” asked Claudie, walking into the bedroom.

“Yeah,” Mildred yawned again.

Claudie nodded as he sat on the edge of the bed and looked at his wife, who looked exhausted.

“Today was good,” Mildred said, still looking out of the window.

“It was,” Claudie agreed.
