“What the hell is this?” Astrid cries when she walks into our communal bathroom the following day and points to my bras and panties hung over the bathtub’s curtain rod.

“Astrid Marx, one point has been deducted from your account.”

I snort and flip to the next page of Astrid’s spellbook. Turns out she lets me read it anytime I want, just as long as she’s around. So, no need for snooping. I reply without looking at her. “It’s underwear.”

“Why is it pink?”

“Why not? I’m sick of those white granny panties and ugly bras they make us wear.”

She comes out holding my underwear between her thumb and forefinger like it might bite her. “So pink is better than white?”

“Look closer, they’re not grannies.”

She lifts it up to see how I’ve cut them into a thong-type shape. Then, she drops them on the floor. “You’re out of control.”

I snigger as I get up and grab the offending panties from the floor and toss them on the bed. “What? They’re clean. I washed them in the sink before I dyed them. I was just air-drying them over the shower.”

She shakes her head and begins to take off her shoes. “Where did you get dye from, anyway?”

I throw her a wicked grin and open my side table drawer. When I pull out multiple packets of Kool-Aid and toss them on the nightstand, her eyes widen.

“You dyed your skivvies with that?”

I nod. “Yep. They’re not only pretty, but smell nice too.”

“Well, don’t let the headmaster see those. You’ll be in trouble,” she replies, her eyes sparkling.

“And how on earth would he ever see my undergarments?” I blink innocently, faking a deep Southern drawl.

Astrid throws me a look as she begins to take off her uniform and change into her sweatpants. “I don’t know, little-miss-innocent. I think a lot of guys around here are going to get a peek at those colorful undergarments.”

I bite down on the corner of my bottom lip and say sarcastically, “Yeah, I’m a slut, I know.”

She shakes her head. “No, you’re not. I meant your constant cartwheeling.”

“Oh, yeah. Better be careful about those from now on.”

“What’s next? A blue bra?” She points at the blue raspberry-flavored packet on top of the pile.

“Of course.” I waggle my eyebrows.

“You’re terrible,” she replies and then grabs her spellbook from my bed. “Your hands are all pink, I don’t need that crap on my book.”

I chuckle and stand up. “Want me to dye your underwear next?”

Her eyebrows hit her hairline. “What other colors you got?”
