Chapter 25

SNOW WALKED ALL OVER THE PRISON with a broom and pooper -scooper, pretending to clean up. She always made moves that way to keep others out of her business.

Snow couldn’t believe the drastic decline in sales. In a matter of days after talking to Andrea-Coleman Bey about her secretive competitors, the prison’s drug trade had completely dried up. At least, it had for Snow. All of her operations were at a standstill and she wasn’t getting paid, which infuriated her.

While walking up to C-2 cell block, Snow became more than livid. Her usually lucrative cell block looked abandoned, and that scared her. She knew something had to be going on because heavy traffic always flowed through the cell block.

Snow went up to the door to check out a few traps. The notorious C-2 cell block, known all over the prison for its frequent body count, seemed to have someone die from drug overdose or a brutal stabbing every six months.

Upon entering the cell block, Snow noticed that all eyes zoomed in her direction. Snow ignored the looks, knowing she could hold her own with the best of them. Though she was petite in stature, many chicks had learned the hard way about sizing Snow up at first glance and underestimaing her. Snow had made examples out of plenty of women since her arrival in prison, which had earned her a solid reputation as that bitch not to fuck with.

“Hey, bitch,” Snow greeted Raquel, one of her homies who ran drugs for her.

Raquel sat at the card table, looking like the perfect definition of a jailhouse hustler with cash on top of cash. She sported a fresh sweatsuit, fly pixie-cut hairdo, and brand new Nike Air Max trainers laced her small feet - shoes that weren’t sold at the prison’s commissary. Her gold chain and Jesus piece pendant along with a pair of gold hoop earrings accessorized her outfit.

At first glance, Raquel looked like a chick getting plenty of money. One would never guess that Snow used her as a top-notch flunky. Raquel’s undying loyalty to Snow didn’t ever have to be questioned. That, coupled with the fact that she never hesitated to do anything illegal for Snow, earned her the perfect flunky stripes in Snow’s eyes. Raquel would just go with whatever, whenever, and never ask questions. All she looked for from Snow was a nice meal here and there and some jailhouse currency to be able to stunt on the chicks that didn’t know any better. Nobody did Snow’s bidding unless they were already authorized to do so by Raquel. She made sure nobody would take her top-notch flunky job. She did the job perfect from the time the doors opened at the crack of dawn until they were locked at night.

“Yo…ain’t too much poppin’ round this bitch. Yo, I can’t give this shit away. Can you believe it?” Raquel said in a heavy country drawl.

“What chu’ mean?” Snow frowned, already knowing the answer to her question. She had gotten the same response from each of her drug runners in other cell blocks.
