The Internet dominates our age. It is an open medium comprised of a vast, global system of networked computers. The process by which computers exchange data is called packet switching. Packet switching is governed by a whole lot of rules called protocols. The study of this is regarded as very important in most computer science courses.

Databases and Database Systems

A database is a structured set of data held in a computer that is accessible in various ways. It is similar to but different from a spreadsheet, which is a computer file where data is arranged in a table and can be manipulated and used in calculations.
