Roderick never should’ve taken the bad advice he did because now he’d lost control of his company. When this damn court case was over, Roderick would start again, and this time he would run the company the way he saw fit.

Roderick was no one’s fool. He’d been putting money away for many years. He had more than enough to use as startup capital and still live comfortably. Roderick would not make the same mistakes a second time. Roderick had been burned badly, but the one thing it had taught him was who he could and couldn’t trust. It was a sad day when the ones closest to you were the ones plunging the knife into your back.

Roderick had a shower and drank a lot of water, trying to clear his foggy head. Roderick had a restless night as he had the weirdest dreams about someone trying to get into his room and telling him he needed to sign some papers. He could remember telling them to go to hell and then telling him he’s not signing anything his lawyer hasn’t checked over. That’s when Tamara popped into his dreams, and the tempo changed to a hot steamy one.
