Access granted. Twisting the doorknob and waiting, as I pulled the card-key from the slot. There was an indescribable stench that almost knocked me to my knees. I know I told Jorge not to leave the room but I didnât tell him not to shower, either. Turning my head over my shoulder, I sucked in as much outside air as possible, holding it in while pushing the door open. Whispering the same prayer, the eerie feeling I couldnât shake slowly turned into guilt. I shouldâve just listened to Ebony and left well-enough alone. I shouldâve told Troy the truth about the shooting. I shouldâve never come here and I shouldâve just bought coats and everything else when we touched down in Chicago. I shouldâveâ
