DEAR DIARY,

This past weekend with D’Andre is what my soul needed. After the week we both had at work, rest and relaxation was definitely on our list of things to do.

He came home with me after work on Friday. I followed him to his house to drop his car off. It was easier to take one car, this way we could drive into New York together on Monday. It will be nice to have company on the ride in.

We both had our guard up in regards to letting men into our lives; I’m glad one of us could finally relax our hands and let love in.

My mom had made baked turkey wings, mac and cheese, collard green and cornbread. We threw down like we hadn’t eaten all day, everything was delicious. She didn’t disappoint with dessert which is her infamous lemon pound cake. I can’t believe she had the nerve to make an extra one for him to take home.

After kissing my mom good night, we headed out to our hotel which is only a fifteen-minute drive from her house. The young woman checking us in upgraded our room to a suite for an additional fifty dollars. Since we were going to be staying until Monday, having more room made sense.

I started the shower once we were settled in. The steam from the hot water quickly fogged up the swing-out glass doors. While I was undressing, D’Andre walked in to join me. He removed all his clothing and stepped in after me.
