Dinner was simple but delicious nonetheless. Aurelia even left us all enough to share for a change. She tends to have a very savage appetite.

After we ate, Morgana and I showered while Anne and Aurelia did the dishes. Most of our time was spent chasing down naughty violent immortals. We felt more relaxed in this domestic situation. I wished we had more time like this to just enjoy sharing our home and our love. Our love and connections were so much deeper than just sexual thrills. Each of us loved one another beyond the articulation of words.

“Certainly took yer time after draggin’ us across two realms!”

Abi snapped in a teasing tone as we came out into the courtyard. The girls appeared to be in rare form. Dagda stood looming behind them. He was like a seven-plus-foot teddy bear where his granddaughters were concerned. Most beings would be trembling with fear to stand in the presence of the Celtic All-Father. (No he is not Odin, but that term was used very liberally for all the gods at the head of their particular pantheons. The paternal gods of the greatest powers.)

“Hush you, this is all fer your benefit.”

I said, my tone mildly chastening, I suppose old habits die hard in mothers. We are perpetually aggravated with our willful daughters. Even once they are two centuries old. Lexi was dressed similar to Talia now. She wore black and blue leathers and chain-mail. Only, this chainmail was woven with an enchanted spell weave which greatly increased the defenses of the wearer. This fortification spell was woven from a derivative of luck magiks. Magiks close to leprechaun's in nature, but not completely proper leprechaun’s.

“Interesting spell-weave, personally woven is it?”

I asked Talia and she blushed.

“Yep, it’s not exactly like a real leprechaun, but I got as close as my magiks allow.”

I grinned and nodded. Some charms and luck spells could be embedded in objects or clothing. Talia knew well I could read the subtle differences between her spells and her father’s work. While I was still a bit creeped out to be mates with a leprechaun now. I was still keen to study their magiks up close. Before recent developments, they were hidden from me. Mainly because I used to wage an unholy war against their lot.

“In some ways, the vague differences seem to refocus the fortification spells. I would dare posset that a half-breed such as yourself might create stronger purely defensive magiks.”

I informed Talia, whose eyes danced in surprise and excitement. She was studying to be a warrior-physician. Talia would likely consider nothing a higher compliment, than praising her defensive spells. Though I have seen her offense, and it’s not lacking in any way!

“I’m sure that’ll make my dad proud!”

Talia preened and I moved over and hugged the tall slender Winter Princess. Talia was my one weak spot in all of Fairey. She was like a daughter to me in such a short period. When I was younger, many would have considered her an Achelie’s Heel.
