I opened my eyes and looked around, and I was in a hospital. At first, I couldn’t figure out how I ended up here until I laid eyes on Knowledge, and suddenly, I remembered him and Jonathan fighting. I thought it was nice of him to stay here with me.

“Hey, how are you feeling?” Knowledge asked.

“I’m okay, just a little tired. What happened?” I asked him.

“You fainted. When were you going to tell me that you were pregnant?” he asked, and my heart sank.

How the fuck did he find out? I thought to myself. I couldn’t even get my words together, but I was saved by the bell when Shanti walked in.

“Oh my God, girl, what happened?” she asked, walking over to my bed to hug me.

“I’ll give y’all a minute, but, Lani, this isn’t over,” Knowledge said before walking out the room.

“What the hell was that about?” Shanti questioned.

I took a deep breath before telling her everything, including that I was pregnant. She was my best friend after all and would more than likely be the one who had to take me.

“Wow, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me that you were pregnant. Are you going to keep the baby? Wait, just to be clear, this is Knowledge’s baby, right?”

I just rolled my eyes at her stupid question. “See, that’s the thing. I didn’t tell anyone because I’m not planning on keeping the baby. And, yes, it’s his baby. Who else’s baby would it be? I mean, I would have told you when I was ready to talk about it. I just wasn’t ready to discuss it just yet.”

“You might as well dead the idea of killing my seed.” I heard Knowledge’s voice say.

I didn’t feel like doing this with him right now, but there was no way in hell I was about to have this man’s baby. He must have been on some kind of drugs. All I wanted to do was talk to the doctor and go home. I wanted to be in my bed alone.
