CHAPTER THIRTEEN

AHNIYAH

Everything was moving so fast since I’d been home. Days turned into weeks, and I felt like I barely had gotten anything done. Since I had been home, I felt like Dom and I still only talked on the phone, and I needed to see her. I also felt the need to make sure Juicy was alright since I knew she was sick. My son was due in three and a half more months, meaning I needed to be married and soon. I didn’t want a big wedding, but I did want it in a cute spot. I had searched a lot of outside places and felt like I found the right one. I needed my girl with me though because without her, shit just didn’t feel right. It was like we both had found men and forgot about each other; well, at least that’s what it felt like. Like I was abandoning my friend who had done so much for me.

Walking into Saks, I looked around at the bags and knew I needed to purchase those closest to me something. Brick had opened me up a bank account and connected it to his. He had given me access to his money in one of his account and allowed me to do as I pleased with it. He gave me another card that was for my business only, which he wasn’t linked to. Since I had nothing but time, I was constantly reading books on opening up my business. I felt like I had so many people always helping me or doing things for me that I decided to do this one on my own. Each day I got up and made sure my man was straight before he left out to tend to his business ventures and when he did, I cleaned the house, took out dinner, and went out to see buildings. My goal was to open up a party rental service. I wanted mine to be twenty-four-seven, unlike most people’s. Like, if you wanted to rent my shit out for afterhours you could, but you would have to pay extra for security, my security.

I would have decorators and bartenders, which would always be available. I wanted to have a kitchen and all. I wanted to host events and do all kinds of things. Most importantly, I didn’t want it to fail. If it was a day event and they needed a cater, I wanted to cook. I also wanted to teach cooking classes to younger kids as well as have little girls’ night shindigs. I would charge for the girls’ nights, and we would have a blast and each night would be based on different things.

“Did you need any help with finding anything?” a sales lady asked me.

“Umm, no. I was just looking around searching for a few bags that I like,” I told her, walking toward the Chanel store. Growing up, Dom always expressed how when she reached boss bitch status, she was going to have a collection of Chanel bags.
