My favorite way to approach this project is painting a handful of corrugated cardboard pieces (such as the flaps from boxes or any non-folded bits) and finding inspiration once I have a few colors.

Squeeze some paint onto a piece of cardboard, and quickly spread it around with a big brush. You can mix colors directly on the cardboard if you want. Just add multiple colors and mix with a brush until you like the way it looks. Let the paint dry completely.

I liked this orange cardboard, and it made me want to make a tiger!
