During the days that followed the incident at Isaiah’s party, the tension between Nastascia and Izzy was intense. She was short with him, snappy, and stayed holed up in our room. When she wasn’t in the room, she was at work, even picking up days when she knew I didn’t like it, but I allowed her to be in her feelings, for now. I knew she was hurt that one of her pride and joys had betrayed her trust, and I tried to do the best I could to ease the both of them. I told her shunning him could mentally break him if she didn’t get a handle on her emotions. I even made mention that she was doing the same thing her fake father had done to her to Isaiah. That must have triggered something in her. The next day, she sat him down, and they had a long talk. I was sure she was still disappointed in him, but at least she wasn’t mad anymore.

As promised, she sent Nicole to Texas that night and told her to keep in touch once she found out if she was pregnant. I felt bad because I had heard what was said between them, but it was already too late to stop the inevitable. I kicked it with Izzy on the courts, explained to him about his fuck up, and even gave him a few gems on how to make his momma happy again. It wasn’t going to be an easy feat because Nastascia was stubborn as fuck, but I knew she would get out of this funk sooner rather than later.
