Because there is really only one setting to worry about for quality, this can be a good choice for an extremely clean look when time is not an issue, such as when leaving a computer to render overnight or over a weekend. Figure 7-36 shows increasing levels of Indirect Rays with their respective render times. For each of these, the increase in render times is very close to a multiple of the Indirect Rays. In other words, the image with 2,048 rays took twice as long as the one with 1,024 rays, and four times as long as the image with 512 rays.
