CHAPTER SEVEN

As they walked through the main building of the resort, Bellamy was extremely cognizant of how easy it was for him to hold her hand.

It wasn't a full palm-to-palm hand hold, just their fingers rested against each other as if they were held together with a kind of gravity.

The breezes blew along the side of the building, cooling him down.

He was still wearing his slacks and shoes that he would wear at the office. His button-down shirt was the only thing affected by the heat, clinging to some of the planes of his body.

And they passed the walk in silence, which was just another surprise to him.

There hadn't been many relationships with women where he'd felt the need or desire to hold a woman's hand. Typically, if he was with a woman, he'd set his hand on her lower back or drape his arm around her shoulders.

Holding a woman's hand wasn't a gesture he felt comfortable making.

The fact that he'd reached for Bella's hand... Well, he was still trying to piece that together.

The toe of his shoe bumped up against one of the stones in the walkway to the front door of their cottage.

Yeah, he was going to tuck that word away until later. He was already more than a little busy thinking about some other issues.

He took out his key with his free hand and held it up to the lock just a few inches above the handle.

It buzzed and clicked open, so he reached out and pushed the door inwards and held it for her.

That's when he realized the situation he'd created.

She stepped inside, but from his place on the flat paving stones, he lost touch of her fingers as she easily stepped inside.

Bellamy bit the inside of his cheek and followed her inside.

The rattan bladed fan cut through the air above their heads and while the doors gave them an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean just outside their door, it felt as if they were only watching it from a distance.

Bella crossed to the door and opened the lock just like she had done a few hours before.

But this time, he got to watch how the winds swept around her lithe body and the way the hems at the bottom of her dress and sleeves slid across her skin.

He wanted to touch her like that.

He wanted to trace his fingertips over her flesh or perhaps even brush his knuckles against her skin.

He wanted to touch her, but he also wanted to taste her.

Those thoughts weren't going to go away.

He didn't even know if she shared them as thoroughly as he did.

But as he watched her stand there with the endless ocean behind her the wind kissed her skin.

He turned around, moving his hand to the front of his slacks, and tried to ease his cock away from the center seam and the zipper that was threatening to bite into his swollen skin.

"Bellamy?"

He wet his lips with his tongue and turned. Letting his arms fall to his sides, he gave her a smile.
