An Army National Guard sergeant trains on a virtual reality flight simulator at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, before being assigned to live drones actually used in the theater of war.
The T-X generates almost three times more thrust than the T-38C Talon, while also featuring improved handling at low speeds. Instructors flying with students are also elevated in the cockpit to give them better views of studentsâ hands and body positions. The first aircraft and simulators from Boeing are expected to arrive in Texas in 2023. It will then spread across the United States at different Air Force bases.
FUTURE TECHNOLOGY JOBS
Another opportunity in the USAF is a role as a cyber transport systems specialist. This position helps ensure the effectiveness and availability of the Air Forceâs global communications network. This could include projects such as repairing a network hub or installing fiber-optic cables overseas. Cyber transport systems specialists must have at least fifteen college credits. Applicants must have taken the ASVAB and received high scores in the electronics sections of the test. Other qualifications include knowledge of electronic and network principles. Physically, the position requires someone to have normal color vision. In addition, applicants must have completed the usual eight and a half weeks of basic training and must be between the ages of seventeen and thirty-nine.
Those with aptitude in mechanics and electronics might seek to become scientific application specialists. A specialist role could be a possibility. This person utilizes technology to test and evaluate weapons of mass destruction and collect data on chemical, biological, nuclear radiation, which is then analyzed and reported on to those in command. The role is particularly important in determining whether a nuclear weapon has been tested. If an enemy of the United States is secretly testing nuclear weapons, the scientific application specialist will use a combination of mathematics, electronics, and physics to uncover the truth.
