Chapter Ten

William

By Monday morning, my cock is actually ready for a few hours away from Maisy. It’s raw and sensitive from being inside her so often, but I still get hard when I think about her.

Which is all the damn time.

I can’t get enough of her—the way she moves, how responsive she is to my touch, the way she radiates pleasure when I make her come.

I want to make her mine in every way, but I’m not sure if she’s ready for that. She’s still unsure, still a little scared, and I need to go slow. Taking things too fast too soon could ruin everything.

Dillon comes by the shop I’m working in. It’s an empty shell still, but since Maisy called it an herb and tea shop, I can’t help but renovate the space with that in mind. I wonder if I can get Cherry’s little brother in here to paint leaves on the walls. He’s done great with the outside murals we’ve given him. Kid has a talent for painting on walls. It’s a good thing Max got him doing it legally or he’d be in juvie by now.

“What’s up little brother?” I ask Dillon, glad to see two to-go cups in a carrier.

Dillon hands me a coffee. “Just brought lunch to Cress. She’s taking care of the bookstore for Cherry while she and Max are on their honeymoon.”

“Thanks, man.” The cup is from the chocolate store next to the Tempest Books or I wouldn’t have taken it. Cressida has a magical gift of ruining coffee but not realizing it’s bad. Nobody has the heart to tell her it’s undrinkable, so we suffer in silence. “How’s Cressida feeling?”

Dillon smiles. That means she’s feeling horny. “She’s great. That’s kind of why I’m here. I wanted to ask you about your housekeeper.”

“What about her?”

“She was at the bookstore. She brought Cressida some herbs for pregnancy. Is Maisy on the level? She seems nice, but I’m leery of my woman drinking something sketchy.”

“If Maisy says it’s okay, I would trust her.” And it occurs to me that I would. “Cress having problems?”

“No. She’s just trying to be as healthy as possible. So you believe all the herb stuff?”

“Yeah, I do. Maisy is knowledgeable, and I’d trust her judgment.” Warmth fills my chest when I realize I’m proud of her.

Dillon’s expression relays that I either said that out loud or it’s written all over my face. “She’s young,” he says. “Younger than Cress even. And you’re older than I am.”

I stare at the coffee in my hand. “I know.”

“Do you think...”

“There’s not much thinking involved, Dillon.” Unless it’s thinking about being balls deep inside her. I spend plenty of time thinking about that.

“You’re moving kind of fast,” he comes back with.

“Seriously? Get the fuck out of here. You knocked up Cressida the day after you met her. Max gave Cherry an entire bookstore on their first date. I’m just having a good time.”

If I don’t look too close, that’s all it is.

“She lives with you.
