Dear Lord, I know You are powerful, wise, and able to save. As my mind roils with images of where he might be and what he’s facing, my heart falters. Then I remember the power of the God we serve, and I am comforted.

Your Name is the one above all names, and You have given Your children the authority to call on You. You are never too busy and never too preoccupied.

There is nothing that our enemies can use to harm us when we are cradled in your loving care. I know that You are protecting my soldier from those physical enemies he’s facing. You are standing guard against the more insidious enemies he’s facing, like doubt, fear, and discouragement.

Your presence is with him in a very real way, even as You are with me. Today, no matter what fears come to torment me, I will remember Your promises and stand firm in my faith. Amen
