Preheat the oven to 375˚F.
Season the halibut fillets to taste with salt and pepper. Dust them lightly with the cornstarch, then dredge in the egg and lightly toss the fillets in the ground pistachios.
Heat the olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat until a light haze forms. Put the fish in the skillet and sear, skin side up, until a crust begins to form. Turn and cook the other side, then remove the fillets from the skillet and place on a baking sheet.
Put the baking sheet in the oven and cook the fillets for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they reach the desired level of doneness. Remove to a serving plate and top with the chard. Serve immediately.
