There are three types of pixels used by various types of screens: (a) triangular, (b) stripes, and (c) diagonal. Most of the time, we cannot see the shape of the pixels, because they are so small.

1. All images in interfaces should have a minimum resolution of 72 ppi (pixels per inch). The design guidelines for every device will require double, triple, or more versions of images in resolutions higher than 72 ppi to satisfy devices’ different resolutions. Please follow these guidelines.

2. When resizing images, unless it has a particular function and purpose, do not enlarge a 72 ppi image, because it will look pixelated, meaning you can see the pixels that form the image.
