Esperanza

I wake up, groggy, surrounded on all sides. The guys must have rotated at some point, as it’s Lincoln’s arms circling me from behind and Mason’s head buried against my neck when I’m roused by voices in the hallway. As I yawn, a sleepy-looking Micah pokes his head up from a pile of pillows on the floor, and glancing over, I see Cabe still passed out on his cot.

“Mornin’, pretty girl,” Micah croaks, and I flush as he crawls his way over, deftly navigating the sprawled bodies on the bed to reach me for a gentle kiss.

“Morning,” I whisper back.

It takes a moment, but I blush a bright red as sensual memories from last night come rushing over me.

I don’t feel awkward, exactly. Maybe a little shy, in the light of day. Everything was amazing, absolutely mind-blowing, and I felt safe the entire time. Excited, nervous, drowning in lust, and oh so needy . . . but safe. Despite their torturous teasing I trusted them to take care of me, trusted my instincts to set my boundaries, and everything was perfect, judging by the pleasant, buzzing warmth I can feel in my veins.

But what happens now?

Are they expecting me to . . . reciprocate? I know the guys must have, ahem, taken care of business last night before we all fell asleep. I might have been a bit out of it, but there were some suspiciously long absences just to rinse off and brush teeth. But is it, like, my turn now? Am I supposed to . . . return the favor? For all of them? Now?

“No,” Lincoln grunts behind me, startling me a bit.

“No?” I frown. Is he somehow answering my mental freakout?

“Your scent’s gone haywire, beautiful,” Mason murmurs, pulling back to look at me with sleepy eyes and a smile.

“Oh.” I blush. “Sorry.”

“Did last night make you uncomfortable?” Micah asks carefully, looking anxious as he kneels next to us.

“N-no! I was very, erm, comfortable . . .”

“Yeah, you were!” Cabe chimes in teasingly, and when I glance over he still looks dead asleep, other than one arm raised up looking for a fist bump. Mason rolls his eyes while Micah grins, and I feel Lincoln groaning behind me before he shifts and sits up.

He’s shirtless—as they all are, I suddenly realize—and more images from last night flood my head. All that skin, all that firm muscle, and my hands confidently tracing each line. My hands pinned against Mason, my legs straddling Cabe . . .

“That’s better,” Lincoln states, bending forward to draw a deep breath from the scent glands on my neck before pulling back and fixing me with a searching look. “You okay?”

I nod. Just having a normal internal freakout after an intense, topless make-out session and spending the night with a pack for the first time ever. It would be weird if I wasn’t feeling this way, surely.

Lincoln seems satisfied enough, leaning forward to kiss me before pulling away and getting out of bed. Mason steals
