The Bane of Geodes

I watched as the pillar of Spirit solidified into a squat, bulky shape some ten feet in front of me.

I was hoping to be close enough to take down at least one of the enemies before things got ugly. In that way, I might reduce the unfavorable odds.

I counted ten of the monsters, and all roughly twice as wide as me and nearly as tall.

With a burst of excess Spirit, the creature emerged complete.

It was a classic golem in many ways, but up close and tangible, instead of a digital construct, I had to focus not to panic.

The stone creature was made of five spheres of stone. A small one at the base that, watching it spin into action, rolled the monster around. A massive boulder on top made up its body. Then a smaller boulder acted as a head.

Its two arms were both made of a single piece of stone as well, this one elongated slightly. When it turned to me, two blue eyes shone out maliciously.

The sound of a dozen oversized rollers filled the air. I could feel the vibrations in my teeth. Hoping for some insight, I used Inspect.
