Chapter 17

THEY HAD dinner at La Rotonde, a five-star restaurant within the hotel. It faced the ocean, and the floor to ceiling windows afforded breathtaking views of the Biarritz lighthouse and surrounding areas. It was quietly elegant, and the menu, although small, was varied, with selections that would appeal to most palates.

Paul opted for the veal cutlet while Tono chose the grilled hake with shellfish smothered in a garlic parsley juice. “You’ll have to put up with my stinky breath,” Tono teased.

Paul smiled. “I can deal with it.”

“I’ll give you a few bites so you won’t be repulsed.”

“That’s considerate, but unnecessary,” Paul said softly. “You’ll always taste good, no matter what you eat.”

They ate in comfortable silence, still high on their lovemaking, which had moved from their bed to the bathroom, culminating with Paul leaning over the edge of the Jacuzzi, begging Tono to fuck him into oblivion. Tono had plunged wholeheartedly into Paul’s pliant body, teasing and bringing forth his third orgasm of the night.

They were captivated with each other, touching fingers and caressing gently in between bites of food. Tono fed Paul off his plate, enjoying the sight of Paul sucking the juice off his fingers―a move that sent shock waves straight to Tono’s groin. He was impossibly hard again, a permanent state of affairs brought about by the sexy blond who couldn’t get enough of him. Paul shared his meal as well, cutting small pieces of veal and hand-feeding his Spaniard, who gazed at him adoringly. It was quite obvious to anyone watching that these two men were madly in love, or in lust, or a perfect combination of both.

“Do you want to go dancing?” Tono’s husky voice broke through Paul’s emotional fog.

“We could.”

“It’s been a while since I’ve been out on the town with someone on my arm.”

“That’s an easy fix.”

“Not in San Sebastian.”

“How long?” Paul asked, disturbing their rosy glow with a moment of reality.

“I don’t know.”

“Tono―”

“Not now, Pol.”

“We’ll need to talk about this eventually,” Paul persisted.

“In due time.”

Paul wanted answers, but on the other hand, he didn’t want to spoil the evening. This entire day had been magical and argument-free―a first for them. He didn’t want to provoke Tono by pressing for decisions, even though they were overdue.

“Where shall we go?” Paul asked, changing the subject.

“Somewhere dark.”

“We can always go back to bed?”

“Come on, rubio.” Tono scanned the check the waiter had placed in front of him, signed it, and then added a tip in cash. “I’d like to show you off.”
